Attitude, disrespectful and no understanding

Gilberto and Terry showed up with attitude telling me it was going to cost $1200 to move my 1 bedroom apartment and 5-6 hours. They laughed at me when I said it wouldn't take that long. I stated if you don't want to do the job then leave and they did. Called David the owner to report what happened and he argued with me that I showed have called him to give them a chance to fix it. It was moving day. My partner and I got it done. Kept my $150 deposit so really think if this is the company you want to use.

Long-distance move from Illinois to Arizona

Moving from Chicago North Side to Tempe Arizona.

We recently got married and I would have to move to Tempe now. EZ Movers sent a representative to our location for a free in home estimate. If you are local, this is something that is definitely required. I can understand why people have influx in cost. The items should always be looked at either via pictures, face time or onsite estimate. I was quoted 3300 moving a fairly furnished two bedroom. The quote was spot on plus or minus a few extra bucks for materials. The furniture got delivered quicker than anticipated and quoted, we received all our items. The reason why it is rated 4 not 5 is because we received a few dishes that were broken that I packed. Not sure why, but it was not expensive items either. If the move was overall perfect then yes a 5 star would be granted. What's perfect these days? I would use them again.

Damages.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!  I had  a lot damage done, and damage done to items that are old and handed down through generations that can not be replaced.  I know how to pack and my boxes were so damaged that items inside were in peices.  I had a 100 year old Hoosier Cabinet damaged as they moved it in the house.  Furniture was dented and scratched.  Items were not wrapped in blankets when they came off the truck as they were supposed to be.  I have had teenagers move me with no damage done.  When I filed a complaint and sent pictures, I was told there was nothing that they could do.  If you value your belongings, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Service cost: $1200

Official company response

Ms. Huard - We are not responsible for your damages. You signed a release saying that you did not want us to pack your items for you. You did so against the foreman's advice. We certainly apologize that you were not pleased with our services, but we are not compensating you for something that happened because you did not want us to protect your goods. You also did not even notify our driver of the damages. Although we disagree with your claims, we wish you the best in your future endeavors. Sincerely, Kelly Reed - E-Z Movers, Inc.

Horrible Service. Do not use them!

I used EZ Movers due to being quoted the lowest rate out if all of the moving companies I solicited out to for my move which we just finished. I don't even know where to begin. I absolutely hate this company and their services! Their moving crew was absolutely rude to my husband on the day of pickup and they were rude on the day of delivery. They rushed us to sign off on the final move because they were ready to leave. They left all of their trash in our garage because they told us their pay would be docked if they haul it away. Some of our items were missing. (I'm filing the claim tomorrow). Items that could have fitted in a box were counted as a single item. This increased my overall item count. The final cost of my move was increased by more than $500 which completely eliminated any "discounts" I was given. They lost precious items my husband and I received when we were married more than 10 years ago. I hate this company and their practices. DO NOT USE THEM!! They have no empathy for us as a customer. I could go on but it just upsets me more. I would not recommend them EVER! I called and left a message with the claims person and did not receive a call back. Instead I got an email and was advised conversation from now on has to be done in writing.  I am utterly appalled at the level of service I received. I was told by Voltaire he would be my single point of contact and that he would take care of everything. I wish I would have read these reviews first. I cannot advise how disappointed I am in this company. I will be reporting them to the BBB and I will go on ever website I can and advise everyone NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY AND NOT BE FOOLED BY THE DISCOUNTS BECAUSE THERE REALLY ISN'T ANY!

Official company response

Tennille,

We sincerely regret any dissatisfaction that you had with our services.

At your pickup, Preston was there in your place. We had him sign the Binding Estimate to include a specific amount of cubic feet. If you take a look at the document, it was adjusted and he initialed the changes. This means that he added more inventory.

I disagree that Natalia has not responded to your phone calls. She took note that she spoke to you on the date of your delivery about some missing items which were an Xbox and 2 DVRS, but you called Natalia back the same day and reported that you found those items. You also report to us in your complaint that you got notice of the towels being still at the pickup location. We are not responsible for items never transported.

I am sorry that you do not like that our inventory just says "box" where there were boxes, but we keep track of inventory by numbering each box. We actually did not pack your boxes for you and would not write on a customer's boxes. My thought with the missing items is that we did not transport the items or that you perhaps did not fully unpack yet. However, we are not responsible for items never transported. We negotiated cost based on volume and only picked up inventory that we were told to pick up. Anything that we did transport was delivered to you.

The movers were correct in saying that we cannot dispose of garbage for you and the materials also belonged to you. This is why our movers stacked up the materials in your garage as you say or near the garbage can. We apologize for the inconvenience.

On your complaint form you report that the driver had you check the inventory. He wanted you and him to make sure that everything was delivered before having you sign the pages. You are required to notate any loss or damage on the inventory pages. Your boxes were all numbered according to the numbers on those inventory pages. You did not report anything missing in writing on those pages. Therefore you claim for missing items is denied. If you feel that the resolution to your claim is unfair, please feel free to contact the American Moving and Storage Association in order to seek arbitration. Their website is: www.moving.org.

Regrettably, we are unable to provide any compensation with regard to your claims.

Sincerely,

Kelly Reed
EZ Movers.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Arkansas

Horrible first experience.

My first experience with a moving company. Definitely my last. They charged me $1000.00 over the estimate (I will agree I was prepared to pay more since it was an estimate but that was a huge difference. The movers (they send TWO) took 4 hours to load the truck. They were professional, but basically just say, sign here, sign here, No dont' worry, just sign here ect. They were suppose to deliver on Friday then called that morning to say their truck broke down and maybe they would deliver Sat. I really was fine with that, I understand things can happen. The drivers came Sat morning, and again very professional. The foot board to the bed in my Master bedroom was seriously gouged. I showed the driver and both him and I took pictures. I asked him if there was anything else I needed to do at that time, he said no he would send them the pictures and that you have 30 days to file complaints and to wait and check everything else. Yea, that's not true. It only took me three days to unpack and I was missing three boxes and an corner CD rack. I called the company and spoke with Natalia who said, no problem we will send you a form to complete and you just send it back. I explained one box had all my plates, and it was important to me to get that box. She said she would call the driver and see if it was still on the truck. Never heard back from her, had to email twice more before she replied and then she said I would hear from her the following week. Which I did not but I recieved a letter in the mail from the company and it states:  NO dcoumentation of damage (footboard of bed) was noted anywhere on job paperwork. Theyfore they are not liable for the claim.  3 missing boxes: Not notated/Scanned out (whatever the heck that means) and therefor are not liable for the claim.  So basiclaly they LOST three of my boxes and 3 weeks later still cannot account for them, and basically have washed their hands of my case.   I'll be honest, the footboard and cd rack I could have over looked BUT two of those 3 boxes held important items and this company simple does not care. I am very dissapointed in the whole situation. The company that hired me, asked if I could recommend this mover since they recently hired two other employees that need to be moved. I said absolutely not. .

Bait & Switch, Total Thieves, & Scammers.

Do not solicit this company..I repeat do not solicit this company. Pay more with other companies because at least u will be sure to have everything you moved, all to be returned back to you. I'm missing whole totes and boxes of items I.E. My h.S grad diploma as well as my b.A. Degree certificate, h/s/ year book. (shaking my head) my son's middle school diploma is missing as well as his h.S. Diploma which is only valuable to us. Not to mention the many other things missing, lies told, extra monies charged that was not discussed along with my remaining balance kept by the company. Totally dissatisfied!

Ms. Stoutmire,

I see that you had a move in September, 2013. I can see a note in your job that I called you and asked to submit a claim. I don't believe we were ever clear on what you were unhappy about. No claim was filed.

Your inventory was signed acknowledging you received all your goods. All of your items have been scanned in and out of the warehouse and match the inventory numbers on your inventory pages. We do not have any extra boxes at EZ Movers that belong to you unfortunately.

Also, about extra charged - I'm not sure what you're referring to. We help onto money for your storage out and transferred from your storage-in. I don't show that that was an issue anywhere.

Sorry to see you were so dissatisfied. Best wishes to you in your future endeavors.

Long-distance move from Aurora, IL to Wilmington, NC

Not worth the hassle.

When my items where first packed up and on the truck, I tipped the driver what I thought was a reasonable amount($60 for a 45 min job). He counted it right in front of me and told me it was not enough. I was very embarrassed and taken aback by his rudeness. I was originally told when I booked that the truck would show up 3-5 business days to my move in date, 4/7. The truck finally came on 4/21. Unacceptable. However these guys where nice and did not question my $90 tip. BUT I am missing items and some of my favorite glass pieces are shattered beyond repair and some boxes where absolutely crushed.

Long-distance move from Memphis, TN to Atlanta, GA

Bullied by EZ Movers.

I recently used EZ Movers to move about 12 pieces of furniture from Memphis to Atlanta. I was sent a quote that stated, "The rate per cubft will include loading, unloading, padding, disassembly, reassembly, transportation, and full value protection (with option of limited liability). For your convenience there will be no additional charge for flights of stairs (three story maximum) at origin or destination. Make sure that all your belongings are packed in appropriate boxes for safe handling."

There was no mention of a 75 ft distance for loading or unloading. I was charged an extra $150 or both ends for my move plus an additional $55 for packing up my furniture. My furniture which was picked-up a day earlier than I was told, arrived a day later than it was suppose to. The driver bullied me into paying the extra fees. He purposely parked away from my condo so he could charge me extra for the delivery. There were 5 parking spots open where he could have easily parked the truck to unload to my condo. He was rude and unaccommodating. My move cost me over $300 more than I was quoted.

As you can see from the pictures the truck could have been parked by my condo but the driver decided to park away from the entrance to charge me more. Again he bullied me into paying the extra fees with threats of unloading the furniture (only about 13 pieces) in the parking lot.

I do not recommend anyone using EZ Movers out of Chicago, Ill.

Do Not Use.

I'd give half a star to no star if it was an option.

Let me also start off by warning everyone to stay away from BRIAN. He's not a terrible guy, he’s actually really friendly and appears helpful at first, but as soon as the sale is done, if you need any assistance, he’s gone with the wind. He's clearly peddling a service he knows is terrible. Shame on you Brian, shame on you.

FYI - my complaint review magically wouldn’t post on their website of lies. Their website advertises hey have 5-star rating. Ummm….. NOT according to the BBB or yelp. Their BBB ratings are 2 stars, still over extending kindness where it isn’t due.

To start; I was rushed to sign everything on the movers’ useless tablet from the get go. I should’ve taken it as a sign right then and there. It kept shutting down and erroring out, resetting itself. The screen was so messed up I couldn't read a thing. In fact, it took so long we went into overtime. However; because I signed, when I found the HUGE gashes in the hardwood flooring, my claim was denied. With extremely arrogant and couldn't care less attitude. ZERO Customer Service applied.

They caused a huge gash because the team ignored my requests. I asked for them to use all 4 guys to lift the furniture that caused the gashes in the wood because it is extremely heavy and go out the double doors to allow more room. They blatantly ignored me, used 2 guys and decided to attempt to showoff and squeeze through a single door and down an extremely narrow hallway. And because they were so far behind in time, we were rushed out the door.

I bought the team lunch and traveled out of my way to hand them a cash tip because they said they weren't confident they'd get it through the company itself if I put it on my credit card. That should've been another red flag right there.

The response I received was: We spoke to our movers and they denied having ever caused any scratched. We reviewed the images of the scratches, and they are short scratches which are not common when dragging something across the floor. This would cause long, deep scratches. Considering all information revirewed, we must respectfully maintain our position on this matter and deny liability for he alleged damages.

ME: Of course, they're going to say that, because I'm sure they would be responsible for some of the bill, right? It would make short deep scratches if they continued to try to pick it up by teeter tottering it without protection. Which is exactly what they did.

I am so beyond disappointed in this company; professionalism from the movers and lack of Customer Service from the "Customer Relations" Team.

Movers Unprofessionalism
• 2 were jumping out to scare one another, playing around, and killing time, at the risk of dropping my belongings.
• While another was making advances at my sister and I (like waiters do for bigger tips), then rudely asked me outright if I tip well.
• In addition; many times, I only saw 2 working while 2 just sat around the truck

Recommendation to ALL: Stay away, but if for any reason you move forward with this bs service; make sure ALL EZ Movers equipment and tablets are working properly before signing anything. Even if that makes the lead mover return to the main office to get proper equipment. Make sure to view and take pictures of everything in the house/apartment before moving to the next location and before you sign anything. Never sign anything if you can't read it, good faith gets you nowhere here.

My return business will not be expected.

Worse experience! Fire Steve!

If I could give this rating a cero star I would. DO NOT use them! Not only were they weeks late but I had to call to follow up on everything from the actual date of my pickup which they’re supposed to contact you 24hrs before. They came on the last day of my spread and I only found out the evening before because I called the driver multiple times. In that same call I found out that they had to rent a small shuttle for my move and charge me close to $500 for it. Aside from that they were extremely late the day of pickup and my building has strict policies for moving time so that was a huge stress adder. My contact person Maryam forgot about me the moment she took my card # and I was barely ever able to get in touch with her again! DO NOT PAY with your debit card and make the same mistake that I did! Then they arrived 1 week last the 10 day window they have by contract AND completely DESTROYED my stuff! I’m talking bad! Broke my $500 lamp, broke wall mirrors, my work desk, night stands, tv stand- I just couldn’t believe it! I’ve called to speak to a manager a couple of times and they send you to this guy Steve who is the most dismissive, disrespect and negligent person I’ve dealt with! He made me cry the first time we were on the phone just by the way he talked to me. He should be FIREd immediately if he’s really managing this company because no wonder they have terrible reviews! I have emailed customer relations and filed a complain about a week ago and no one has contacted me about it. I am beyond frustrated and wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same experience.

Horrific!

Please note from the very beginning I asked the pick up driver Sammy to provide me with my updated bill of lading and all he would say repeatedly (3-4 times) is the following: "Don't worry, you'll get it, you can trust me, I've done this thousands of times, believe me/believe in me/please don't ask me again, you'll get it." Yet, he left without providing me with my updated bill of lading, but made certain they had their payment as well as their future payment information on file, and manually signed for. They also had me sign for several things electronically but refused to grant me copies of the electronic information signed, ultimately and eventually stating that "Once you've paid for your invoice in full, you'll get all of your documents." I even called Sammy minutes after he left, leaving a voicemail for him and never heard from him again. I repeatedly called E-Z Movers that day and days, into weeks after, continuously asking my salesman asking for my documentation, and he stated the same, "Once I have paid in full and upon delivery, I'll receive my updated documentation." My hands were tied. This was EXTREMELY unfair how E-Z Movers does business, this way, as well as raising the price by $1k once Sammy arrived on the VERY last day possible to pick up, and I was stuck between a rock and a hard place and no other alternatives. I was quoted on 20 wardrobe moving boxes and Sammy showed up with ZERO wardrobe moving boxes and used ZERO wardrobe boxes. As a matter of fact he contacted me telling me he was at Home Depot picking up additional moving boxes because he wasn't provided with enough for my move. There's NO way this move should've been an additional $1k because I left behind my dining table/four high back dining chairs/my dining room curio and computer desk to save money ALL of which I was quoted on, with the exception of my computer desk. Moving forward, the items missing are as follows: My corner family room cabinet, my Dell computer, my Epson four-in-one printer, my two stone lampstands (we found the shades which were smashed in and your delivery driver I21/Ibrahim A Asal was able to fix those with the exception of the rhinestones that went around the base of the lampshade and those are also missing), my footstool and my two restaurant grade fryer's. My things that are damaged are my Emerson 32" HD television screen completely shattered along the top, my African American Art the actual art is scratched in the upper right corner, the glass was approximately 2" thick and it was smashed in several different places, the approximately 3" thick frame cracked in half, the right arm of my sofa completely torn/ripped off from its base and a hole with stuffing coming out on the front left corner of my sofa. When your driver I21/Ibrahim A Asal first arrived, I asked him for my updated bill of lading. He asked for payment, I gave him $820 in cash, he pulled up a chair, asked me to "Sit and once everything's delivered and signed you'll receive your paperwork, don't worry." I said no, you've been paid I'd like my updated documentation please and he asked where my copy was, I asked for my documentation again and he again refused until delivery was completed. He brought my damaged TV to me, apologized that it hadn't been packed properly, and sat my damaged painting outside on the porch damage facing away, so prior to him finishing, I asked what it was, he again apologized for it not being packed properly and showed me the damaged, and said to contact the company to "take care of it." Once they finished, he asked me to "Come, sit and talk" I sat he asked "Who was there", I asked where? He repeated himself two/three times and FINALLY he says "At the pick up location" I didn't know what he meant so I repeatedly said Sammy and his two helpers, why? He FINALLY said "Who signed the paperwork?" I told him I was the only one signing paperwork, then he pushed a "doctored" bill of lading in my face with my signature at the bottom. I told him that piece of paper was just made up in his truck just now because the ink was fresh and my signature was a copied signature from my payment receipt at the time of pick up. I said are you kidding me right now?! Do you think I'm a fool? Where are the dates on this doctored document?! I took my phone out and began taking pictures and videotaping because I couldn't believe how disturbingly dishonest he was trying to be and at that point he literally got up, ran out the door hiding his face and saying "You have ALL of your things!" I told him I was calling the police because all of my things weren't there! I was looking for my computer and my printer because I need those NOW, and they're NOWHERE to be found! It was painfully and almost immediately apparent my curio cabinet wasn't on that truck (I took pictures as soon as those doors opened because Sammy kept asking about the value of my things which made me uncomfortable at the pick up, amongst other things) he said "Why call the police, this is a civil matter!" I said exactly, I and I need a report of it all, he kept saying "I have nothing to do with any of this, its between you and the company." I told him he is representing THE COMPANY so he has EVERYTHING to do with this! He didn't want to be videotaped so he asked how could we work it all out, without calling the police, I told him to just sign the receipt I gave to him that he received the cash I paid him and he could leave and I'd deal with the rest via claims in care of E-Z Movers period. I videotaped him signing he asked me to electronically sign off on the delivery, I vehemently and utterly in light of the forgery that just went on and asked him again to leave.

Long-distance move from Massachusetts to Georgia

Scam. Dont hire them.

Think twice before you hire them.

1-) The job was subcontracted to a different moving company without my consent and discussion. The persons who came to pick up items did not introduced correctly. I had a contract with E-Z Movers, they were supposed to pick up my items between 08/22 to 08/24. However on Friday 08/23 on my call, they informed me that can not make it on Saturday and would be able to pick up the items next week. However I was flying to GA on 08/26 2am. The contact person told me that he will call back after discussing with his management. On my call in the evening they told me that they will pick up the items on Sunday 08/25. They did not inform me that the job has been subcontracted. When the movers came to my house for the pickup, they introduced as E-Z Movers. After they picked up all the items, gave me new bill and asked for full payment. The invoice was from Southern Van lines. Then upon my asking, I was told that they got the job and I need to pay them in full. They also added Fuel Charges and Material charges for approx of $400/- (a little less). Upon some argument, I gave them $400/- so that I get sometime and talk to E-Z Movers about it.

2-) Incorrect contact (sub contractor) was provided. The invoice I got after the pickup had incorrect contact info of Southern VanLines. Later I found out that the moving was done by Sunshine (something, don't have the full company details as I was never told).

3-) Payment Terms were violated. Per my contract with E-Z movers. I had to pay 25% initially which I did, then 75% via credit card on pickup and remaining in cash on delivery. After the pickup, I was asked to pay in full in cash. Upon argument I paid $400 in cash as that was my last day and wanted to talk to E-Z Mover about the situation.

4-) Unauthorized / discussed charges. I was charged approx $400 for fuel surcharge and materials (187.12 + 100.50 to be exact). They hold up items and asked me to pay first the full amount including the disputed ones. I called E-Z Movers on 08/30 and emailed them about the situation. I was asked to pay the amount and get my items. E-Z Movers agreed to reimbursed the unauthorized charges. I paid the remaining amount and got my items on 09/07

5-) Items and property (delivery) was damaged. The items were handled very unprofessionally and lot of them were damaged significantly. The property was damaged too. The delivery driver told me that he does not work for the company and don't care about any damage.

6-) Delay and No-response on claim from E-Z Movers and/or their partner. The claim for damages and reimbursement of unauthorized charges were submitted on 09/10 (or so) but did not receive any update and proper response.

Go With Anyone Else.

I was referred to EZ Movers by a friend who had a positive experience with them in the past.  I could not have been more disappointed by their service.

I was quoted $470 for a move from the suburbs to the city.  I was advised to purchase my own packaging materials (tape, shrink wrap, bubble wrap) to save money.  I received 15 boxes and the use of 5 wardrobe boxes included in the quote.  I was told the move would take 4 hours, including the hour drive.

It appeared that two of the movers were somewhat new and were not sure what they were doing.  The foreman kept yelling at one in particular, especially when he was using their packaging materials instead of the ones I spent $70 for!  It became clear that it was going to take much longer than the quoted 4 hours.  When I called the office to discuss, I was told that unless I signed a new quote, they would unpack the entire truck and would leave.  They anticipated that the move would end up taking 6 hours..at an extra $99 per hour!

We got to my new apartment and they began moving things in, but paid absolutely no attention to anything that was marked as to where it should go.  It ended up taking them 5.5 hours to do the job.  The foreman charged me for the use of wardrobe boxes, even though they were supposed to be included.  I ended up paying $627..$157 more than I was quoted.  If I had known this, I would have gone with a different company.

I thought I would be nice and provided the movers with a box of muffins, bagels, cream cheese, Gatorade, and a 12 pack of water.  Rather than just taking a few, they kept everything for themselves!

When I complained to the company, they explained that the person who provided me the quote was no longer with the company.  The only compensation they offered was reimbursement for the wardrobe boxes.  They then wanted me to sign a release saying that I would not file a complaint with the BBB.  I told them they could keep the reimbursement.

This is my first experience with a moving company and I will NEVER go with this company again and highly recommend no one else does.

Do Not Use!

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! Moved from Illinois on 7/15/13. Truck arrived in South Carolina on 7/22/13. My box of china, which I had packed carefully with bubble wrap between the plates and all else (and was a brand new box), had TUMBLED DOWN OFF MY STACK OF BELONGINGS to an empty part of the truck. Dishes were smashed and some even hanging out the bottom of the box. I only asked for $200 back to replace some china, and EVEN WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC EVIDENCE they refused.Again, I repeat, DO NOT USE E-Z MOVERS, you WILL regret it.

Worse move ever!

Worse moving experience ever, I never post on Yelp but I don't want someone else to go through what I did. THIS IS A WARNING! I was quoted $600-800 and ended up paying nearly  $2,000! Let's just start with saying they are more expensive then any competitor at about $115 an hour.  I called to get my quote and I was told it would be about $300-400 to move everything. I was more then ok with that and even if it went up to $500 I would have been to. I was also told you get charged hourly which again makes sense but when the movers come they quote you how many hours they think it will take and inform you it may be more then what they think it will take. I was told the movers would arrive between 12-2pm and they arrived at 2:35 pm. They walk in and quote me 7 hours for the job and it would come out to about $750. I was in shocked but had no choice but to continue and sign whatever they quoted me. I asked if we could just start and stop the clock and see how long it would take us but he said they don't charge hourly? and he also informed me that it may as well take longer and it would be more expensive if it did, which contradicts them not charging hourly!?So in order for me not to pay more the what was quoted, the obvious thing to do is to help the movers move things since I would not want to pay extra on top of the ridiculous quote especially not at $115 an hour. So at this point I started moving things by myself by the time they even started I had already cleared and moved 1/4 of the stuff I wanted them to take but because they were telling me it would take them forever to wrap and move everything even after the already saw all the stuff and quoted me! I really don't want to continue in detail so here are some obvious noes. The mover tried to make me happy and tell me that it would be less then what he quoted me by subtracting my $100 deposit from my total thinking I would forget about it!  One of the movers had STAFF INFECTION and kept touching his infection and proceeded to touch/move my belongings. I was on the in their truck moving and loading my belongs as well as wrapping/taping my belongings. They did not put beds back together that they took apart.I did my own inventory of the items being brought in since they were just going to bring things up without inventorying and match with what they took. I have more to say but I get frustrated thinking back to everything that has happened.Overall I ended up paying $1,800! FAIR WARNING TO ALL STAY AWAY!

Long-distance move from Illinois to Florida

Read This.

READ THIS!EVERY SINGLE POSTIVE POST ABOUT THIS COMPANY IS PROBABLY FROM SOMEONE RELATED TO THE COMPANY.I had heard (and read on Yelp and other sites) very negative things about this company.  However, a family member had a friend who worked there and as such, we discarded our better judgment and used them anyway.  If I was going to write a review of everything that went wrong, I really feel as though I would have a 300 page novel.  All I will say is that everything you read about this company on the internet is TRUE.  They are AWFUL.  As a reference point, my husband has been in business for over 20 years and has owned, operated and sold successful businesses.  His comment about these guys is that best case, they are incompetent.  Worse case, they are liars and criminals.  BTW, I have never written a negative review about anything.  I just never felt compelled to do so because when something went sideways, I was able to resolve the issue with the company directly. Not the case here - do yourself a favor and find an alternative.  Given all of the negative feedback about this company, GO ELSEWHERE.  There are plenty of other movers - there is no reason to put yourself through the frustration that these guys offer.

Long-distance move from Illinois to California

Just Read my Worst Experience so Far.

All I will say is that everything you read about this company on the internet is TRUE.  But practically these folks are incompetent and very dishonest to maintain their commitment. They normally inform quotation by phone (even though if you asked them to come to your home for an actual quotation, they do not entertain that, I did not know the reason at the time of booking; but now I came to know….”Why these folk do not come to customer’s house to say proper quotation”, Reason is: I hired them for moving my stuff from IL to CA and their sales guy estimated my stuff at 400 cu feet..when the movers team came and loaded the stuff it came out to be less than that . So I asked them to revise the quote but they are disagreed to do that as I was told that I will need to pay for 400 since they have booked that much space for me..which was really ridiculous…!!More over one of the customer sales representative told me(before mover came to my house for packing items) , if there is any change required they can do that on the day of movement/loading items…but there is lot of communication gap between the "movers came to my house to pack items" and the sales representative guy"…….!!    EZ Movers have been the worst Movers and Packers I have seen . MY items were stolen….This company should carry all the negative feedback , so there is honest suggestion that find for OTHER MOVERS,  There are plenty of other movers- there is no reason to put yourself through the frustration that these guys offer best…….

Long-distance move from Illinois to Michigan

The Worst Moving Experience Ever.

I would not even give them 1 star.  They verbally promised to deliver my furniture from Chicago to Southwest Michigan (a total of 75 miles) in a day or two with a local truck.  When they showed up 17 days later, they had the largest 18 wheeler I had ever seen so they wanted to charge me four hundred dollars more because they couldn't get their truck down the street because it was so huge.  They said they would deliver my items on saturday between 1 and 4.   They never showed then the driver called me and said he would be there between 9 and 10 am Sunday morning.  No heads up from company about delivery.  All of my items were damaged in some way.  Rugs were wet and dirty because they didn't wrap them.  A priceless midcentury buffet that my parents bought in 1956 in Denmark was in perfect condition when they picked it up - when they delivered it, one leg was broken off.  All of my upholstered furniture was only wrapped in plastic wrap (which they did) and not covered with blankets, so all of my furniture had dirt spots on them from where they had been dragged.  Also. almost every leg on every chair was chipped.  New dressers and armoires were chipped in multiple places.  One box had split open.  This is the worst long-distance moving company ever.  Every person I spoke to lied (the sales person, the manager, the dispatcher) and the way they talked to me made me think they had been through this before.  How dare the manager get upset with me for calling him unprofessional.   They are totally incompetent, I was worried I might not ever see my furniture again, so when it finally arrived I was just glad to see it again.  I wish I had read all of these reviews first. .

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Texas

Crooks.

CROOKS and SHADY.. MY items were stolen!! listen people I do not write reviews on things no matter how bad the experience was BUT this time I have to say something.. where do I start.. I am prior military so I have moved a million times and this by far was the WORSE moving experience EVER! I chose this company because they were the most persist.  I had a very small long distance move from a storage unit in one state to my apartment in another state.  I informed them I would need packing and would have someone there to open the storage unit (bad idea not being there myself) But never the less the movers showed up on time and loaded my items.  fast forward a few days later the truck arrived with my things to my shock half of my things were not packed and secured and there was tape wrapped around random things.. I started to unpack and did not see my child' video games console(s), IPOD mount and some other electronics..which I had placed in a laundry basket in the storage.. all the games were missing but one.  they never even packed the items in the basket. They put a green number sticker on the basket and loaded it up. The movers brought my things in and ensure I marked off that I received all the "containers.  All of the containers were there BUT MY THINGS WERE MISSING OUT OF THEM BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT PACKED AND SECURED.  Any one could stick there hands in a laundry basket and take what they wanted and leave the basket!! (yes I am upset).  In addition to the missing items one of my flat screen TVs was not on the inventory list and I asked the movers where the TV was.. after scrambling thru my things the TV was found wrapped in one of my blankets with a roll of tape wrapped around it.  I have never seen a flat screen packed this way in all of my moving experience however my other TV was properly packed but must have dropped because I have a big purple line going down it now.   When I called the driver all he kept saying was all the containers were accounted for and off his truck.. getting no where with the driver I called EZ movers who told me to file a claim. I completed the form and sent it back.. fast forward a few days later I get a letter in the mail saying my claim is invalid and all my "containers were delivered and checked off by me. ONCE AGAIN YES I received the so called containers BUT MY ITEMS WERE MISSING OUT OF THEM!!.  These people are shady and business practice need to be investigated ASAP! My things were stolen and I feel violated and disgusted. (I did not spell check but you get my point).

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Florida

Do Not Use This Company!!

This whole move process was a nightmare! My quote went from 891 to 1301 to 1501 and when all said and done was over 1800. And you have no choice but to pay it because they don't tell you all of this until it is moving day and there's no way that you can schedule someone else on that short of notice. I had 2 missing boxes, filled out the claims form and hear not a single word back. One truck driver tells me that they will be coming to florida with a smaller truck so when they showed up with the 18 wheeler they could not get within the 75 feet of my door. The mover then proceeded to just drop my belongings in the entrance of my 400 unit complex so anyone could just take my stuff as I tried to bring it to my home. Daniel did finally talk the driver into taking my belongings to my home (after I had already move 80% of it myself and being screamed at by the driver). Almost every single one my my plastic totes was busted to pieces. They told me to put in the paperwork that I need delivered ASAP. They consider ASAP 2 weeks later so we were sitting in the house on lawn chairs and sleeping on air mattresses that I had to go and purchase. No pans no nothing. But they don't care they already got your money so they are in no hurry!! THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE AND I WISH I WOULD HAVE LISTENED TO ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS BEFORE I WENT AHEAD AND USED THEM!! I have already stopped 2 people from using them in the nexgt year for their big moves and I will continue to tell everyone that I come across that this company doesn't care, they just want the money. .

Long-distance move from Wisconsin to Florida

Worst Company ever!! CONS artists.

Just like every other person on here that doesn't work for this company.. I had the most MISERABLE, STRESSFUL, and EXPENSIVE experience. I completely REGRET having these scam artists do my MOVE. I would have been better off renting a U-Haul and driving that across the country for what they scammed out of me. The day of my move, they showed up and demanded an extra $1,000!! since I no longer had the option of looking for anyone else, I was FORCED to use them. ..just like the other posters..I was LIED TO .. they were callous and made derogatory remarks to me over the phone as well as screamed over the top of me. Since I was already in another state I had no choice but to use them. They are liars and thieves at best.  PLEASE listen to what EVERYONE is saying and go somewhere else. The sales person is all sweet until he gets his claws into your checkbook. They will be charging you for your "FREE storage". Then they start racking up hidden fees and making up stuff to make more $$.  They promise you your things in 7 days.. TRY 15 days! No phone call as to when they would be there, no professionalism.. I missed days of work because the  sales guy kept quoting me different days when they would be here.. no one called to tell me when they were going to be here ether.. ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY!! I HATE this company.. and obviously so do at least 152 other people who filed claims with the BETTER BUISNESS beaureu. These people are frauds and will destroy your property and make moving..which is already a stressful experience..absolutely MISERABLE.

Local move within Illinois

Just disappointed.

I would like to start out by saying I rarely write reviews. I do not believe in bad mouthing anyone unless their actions are grossly negligent, disgusting, and disrespectful to the customer.

I hired EZ because their pricing was very competitive and they were able to accommodate my move date and time. On the morning of they showed up to our first of three locations. The transaction started off friendly, and I was happy.

About an hour into the move one of the movers grabbed a 5x7 rug which was rolled and wrapped in a plastic bag through it over his shoulder and on the way out the door uncaringly hit a multi-tier shelving unit. This shelving unit housed antiques and sculptures. Several items fell crashing to the floor, two of which were antique Chinese plates that my grandmother bought in the 60's at the Miami trade show. These plates were over 100 years old and now shattered. The plates were displayed on two thick glass blocks, and as they hit the floor, the plates and stands damaged the floors. My mother was in tears about the plates and the negligence of the movers. The movers and I documented the incident, and we had no choice but to continue.

The driver came to me about 45 min later saying they were done, and their dispatch is requiring full payment before leaving the first location.(keep in mind we had two other stops) In business people/business get paid AFTER the job is done not before or during. You wouldn't pay a plumber before he finished the work would you? Anyways I refused and it took an hour to get a manager on the phone, we spoke for all of 60 seconds (if that). "if you don't pay they are not leaving" the manager said, I said; "Ok tell them to unload the truck and please leave" They were afraid because of the damaged caused by their movers I wouldn't pay.

The move was on a Sunday, and their office wasn't open, so we had to wait until Monday to file a report. I called once a day for three days and never got a call back (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). Finally, a gentleman answered on Wednesday, and boy was he rude!! The gentleman was screaming and yelling, telling me I was a piece of this and that.. I didn't give them a chance reach out etc.. I finally submitted the report and called back once a week to check the progress from EZ end. Each week I would hear; "we are still working on it and will have an answer next week." After week three we explained there was no reason this should take so long, and we felt they were dodging us and not going to live up to their responsibility. I explained our attorney would be handling things going forward and I am sorry it came to this..

OH BOY did the owner, not like this response; I called back to ask for their attorney info, and he answered. In that thick Israeli(I am israeli and my sister is in the IDF) accent started screaming and calling me names. This was three weeks ago and now they have decided to tell my attorney we should sue them instead of making good and fixing the problem.

Is this someone you really want to do business with? I have pictures and if there was a way for me to post them for you to see the horrible damage they created I would! I urge you think twice before getting into bed with EZ Movers.

Long-distance move from Minnesota to Florida

Deceitful Quote.

I was quoted & billed $3,800 to move my household items to Florida from Minnesota. On the day we arranged for EZ-Movers to pickup. Which was the same day our apartment lease was up. The driver walked around and looked at our furnishings. He said he wanted $20,000 or he was driving away. I couldn't believe it! I said wait a minute. I'm going to get my girl friend and bring her to you. (The driver) The driver. (Abraham) said he made a mistake in his calculation. He said give him $15,000. I was livid. He then said, we'll give me $12,700 or he's driving away. My girl friend immediately called Abraham's boss Steve. They went back and forth and Steve said pay $11,700 or he was going to tell Abraham to drive away. We had no choice. Abraham said our household items would be in Florida the next week. So we drove down by car to meet up with our belongings. EZ Movers did not deliver to us for 18 days. Besides this. Over 60 household items were damaged and a brand new radio control truck that cost me $400 was the only item lost or stolen. I believe the driver stole it. EZ Movers would not pay us ANYTHING for damage and would not even acknowledge the missing $400 truck. I filed with the Illinois Attorney General and the Illinois BBS. Neither did ANYTHING to help. They are both worthless organizations that go thru the motions. Both admit they are powerless. What are they there for. I believe that EZ Movers con every customer in their deceitful practices. DO NOT hire this company. Most likely you will be there next victim.

Long-distance move from Michigan to Virginia

If I could give 0 stars I would. Stay away!

Stay away from E-Z Movers from Skokie, IL. The quote did not match the total cost they demanded. I paid almost 60% more than the quote was for a job that was way below any quality.

Pick-up was scheduled to be on Tuesday. On Saturday they called me that they will come to pickup my stuff the next day (Sunday). Well, I was out of country, so they left me a message. And yes, they came on Sunday, two days earlier then scheduled. Apparently the truck was just leaving, and the next available would be in 10 days (why then took them 13 days to drive from MI to VA, I have no idea, maybe they went through Mexico).

When the driver arrived he told me it will be extra for long distance form apartment door to the truck, plus they said I had more stuff than on the quote. It totaled in extra 30% from what was on the quote. When I tipped the driver he said it was not enough and wanted more (for two hours of loading they demanded more than my daily wage!)

The reason why they came for pick-up early was that the truck was leaving to Virginia that day. Well, I do not think so. My goods did not arrive until 13 days later. After waiting and waiting, few phone calls and emails, they finally called me on the evening that they will come the next day at 9am. So I had to take emergency day off from new job. By noon that day I called them a few times and every time they had an excuse for being late. Eventually they claimed that the truck has broken down, and they will not be able to come that day, but they will be the next day at 7am (another day off new job!). Eventually they showed up at 9am, and first thing they said was that they cannot park the semi there so they will need to use a shuttle truck, for which, of course, they will charge me another 30% of the initial quote (later the landlord said that it would be okay to park the semi to unload, others do it often). At this time I did not oppose, I just wanted my stuff!

In the end three pieces of furniture were broken, and a small step ladder never made it to my new home. I was finally paid for broken furniture, but after involving the BBB.

To sum up: it would be cheaper, easier, faster and MUCH less stressful to rent a truck myself and drive from MI to VA (even if it was in the middle of winter)!
